Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Corriene Kurz joined ARA in 2018 from The Center for Autism in Philadelphia, following two decades of child and adolescent psychiatric practice in Maryland. She has extensive clinical experience in multiple treatment settings, including inpatient hospitalization, group homes, partial hospitalization and outpatient treatment, school consultation and the juvenile justice system.
Dr. Kurz earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Thereafter, she completed both an Adult Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where she served as Chief Resident. She received a B.A. in French, with a minor in Spanish, from the State University of New York at Binghamton, speaks Spanish and has a working knowledge of French. Dr. Kurz has expertise in psychopharmacology and the treatment of pediatric mood and anxiety disorders, behavioral problems, ADHD and autism spectrum disorders.
She is a skilled diagnostician with a special interest in language development, bilingualism, developmental disorders and transcultural psychiatry. Dr. Kurz is dedicated to providing thorough and compassionate quality care.
